The Clark County Indians were the 52-43 winner over the Illini West Chargers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Clark County suffered a tough 50-30 loss at the hands of Illini West on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clark County has scored all season.
Illini West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colby Robertson led the charge by scoring 12 points. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Ethan Carlisle was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Clark County bumped their record down to 4-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Illini West, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Clark County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Illini West won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hannibal at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hannibal is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
