After a string of nine wins dating back to last season, the Yuma Criminals's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Moon Valley 65-60. Yuma has not had much luck with Moon Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Yuma lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Amador, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Amador is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Andrew Mosqueda was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Yuma's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Moon Valley, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yuma will face off against Greenway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenway is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Moon Valley, Moon Valley and Thunderbird will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Thunderbird will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
