The Loch Raven Raiders can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkville 62-27 at home. Given Loch Raven's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Parkville is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Loch Raven's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meona Boykin, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Maya Gordon was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five steals and two blocks.
Loch Raven pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Parkville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Loch Raven will head out on the road to face off against Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Loch Raven focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Parkville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against New Town at 5:30 p.m. Parkville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
