Northland Pines' 16-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Mosinee 79-35 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Northland Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Mosinee is ranked 56th).
Meanwhile, Hillsboro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 84-56 defeat at the hands of Westby. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Northland Pines has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-9 record last season and are now at 3-5.
