There's no place like home for the Pender Pendragons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Tekamah-Herman by a score of 60-49 on Friday. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but Pender was the better team in the second half.
Pender was led to victory by Trevor Trimble and Alex Roth. Trimble scored 15 points, while Roth dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aiden Beckman, who scored 5 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Tekamah-Herman still got an impressive performance from Griffin Breckenridge, who scored 14 points. Sam Oligmueller was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Tekamah-Herman struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pender pulled down 11.
The victory got Pender back to even at 1-1. As for Tekamah-Herman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Pender will head out on the road to face off against Winnebago on Tuesday. Hopefully Winnebago focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Tekamah-Herman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stanton on Saturday. Hopefully Stanton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Friday.
