It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but the American Heritage Stallions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 68-64 win over Benjamin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Skylar Turk was her usual excellent self, scoring 38 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Presser, who scored 18 points.
Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marlee Schwab, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ja?nyia Donaldson, who scored 16 points.
American Heritage now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Benjamin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Heritage will square off against Pine Crest at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pine Crest's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while American Heritage has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Benjamin is on the road again on Monday and plays Oxbridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th.
