Loachapoka was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 1A Region 4. The Indians vanquished Verbena 39-6 earlier in the week.
Wadley moved up to 309 from 365 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs were able to make the jump by beating Talladega County Central 52-36.
Notasulga's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cedarius Alexander threw for 91 and one touchdown and Xavier Duplessis had 45 yards receiving. On the ground Marlon Page chipped in 216 yards. Martavious Brown helped Notasulga's passing attack out by catching one ball for 41 yards.
St. Jude Educational Institute's Tony Minefield and John Hawkins have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Minefield has thrown for 635 yards this season, while Hawkins, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has five catches for 209 yards. Page from the Blue Devils leads the league in rushing with 572 yards.
Notasulga took down Fayetteville 41-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Page in the win.
