Vermont Academy came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Tilton School Rams. The Wildcats' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Ryan Peloso made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other pitching news, Will Shlomm looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Lucas Sinacola and Milo Tucker did most of the damage at the plate: Sinacola got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Tucker went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Sinacola also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Tristan Ayojiak was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Vermont Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tilton School only posted a batting average of .188.

Vermont Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tilton School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Vermont Academy will face off against rival New Hampton School at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tilton School is set to square off against their familiar foe Holderness at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
