Orland is 0-10 against Las Plumas since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m.
Orland came up short against Red Bluff last Thursday, falling 16-5. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gracie Cutshall was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella McDermott, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Orland typically has all the answers at home, but last Wednesday Las Plumas proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Thunderbirds have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kyler Storey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Kendal Headley was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Atteberry, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Las Plumas' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Orland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Orland has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Las Plumas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Orland might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Las Plumas in their previous matchup last Wednesday. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
