Reed's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Bishop Manogue hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Miners never let Reno get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Saturday. The Miners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Kaylee Sanchez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Kiki Harris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Sis King was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Bishop Manogue was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are undefeated (10-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Reed was able to grind out a solid victory over Damonte Ranch on Saturday, taking the game 6-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Like Bishop Manogue, Reed also got a great game from a two-way player: Kehaulani Tambaoan. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tambaoan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Tambaoan wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tiare Kanae, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Bishop Manogue has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reed, their win bumped their record up to 20-3-1.
Reed's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bishop Manogue has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game.
