It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Aquinas Fightin' Irish had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Glascock County. The result was nothing new for Aquinas, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Aquinas was led to victory by Jack Rhodes and Jim Franklin. Rhodes picked up 205 receiving yards and five touchdowns, while Franklin threw for 352 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes. Buddyrow Garrer was another key contributor, picking up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Aquinas has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Glascock County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Aquinas will face off against Macon County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Macon County will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Glascock County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
