Trent is 0-6 against Highland since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Trent Gorillas will head out on the road to take on the Highland Hornets at 6:15 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Trent and four for Highland.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 91-16, which was the final score in Trent's tilt against Westbrook on Tuesday. Trent was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.
Meanwhile, Highland suffered their closest loss since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene by a score of 47-44.
Trent dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Highland, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
Trent suffered a grim 49-29 defeat to Highland in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Trent avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
