The Campbell Indians will take on the Celeste Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Campbell has three straight victories, Celeste has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Campbell barely beat Saltillo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Drake Sweeney made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Campbell is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Sweeney was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Campbell let Alex Rosado and Matthew Sweeney run wild. Rosado got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Sweeney got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs Rosado has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Noah Vasquez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.
Campbell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Cooper hit Celeste with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils lost 13-1 to the Bulldogs.
Campbell's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Celeste, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
Campbell might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Celeste when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
