Weequahic added to the longest winning streak in Super Essex - Colonial this week by beating Verona, 27-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Indians.
Shabazz took down Montclair Kimberley Academy 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Joe Slattery threw for 311 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 20-29 with 1 interception.
Slattery put up the best numbers in passing as Cedar Grove topped Central. Slattery's favorite target this week was David Njoku, who caught 9 passes for 183 yards.
The Panthers' Slattery and Paul Rufo have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Slattery has thrown for 1,847 yards this season, while Rufo has 37 catches for 792 yards. Weequahic's Alkadair Ports leads the league in rushing yards with 688.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Weequahic takes on second place Cedar Grove. Brian Johnson-Logan's team topped the Hillbillies last week, while Cedar Grove defeated the Blue Devils.
