Lemon Bay moved up to 231 from 288 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 7A District 11.
Gulf Coast and Lely played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Gulf Coast eventually emerging with a 3-0 victory.
Charlotte's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Fightin' Tarpons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brennan McGill has thrown for 617 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Dwight Reynolds has 16 catches for 290 yards. Clyde Newton leads the league in rushing with 1109 yards.
A big matchup in 7A District 11 this week will be when Charlotte takes on the Manta Rays. The Fightin' Tarpons are in third place, while Lemon Bay is in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Charlotte takes on D.J. Ogilvie Messina's team. Binky Waldrop's team has allowed 118 points this season, while the Manta Rays have given up 122.
Port Charlotte took down Mariner 29-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
