Reidsville is on a 19-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Shelby is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Reidsville Rams will take on the Shelby Golden Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Reidsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Shelby likes a good challenge.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Reidsville walked away with it. They took down the Bears 41-26 on Friday. 41 seems to be a good number for Reidsville as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for AL Lee, who threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns. Lee is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Jariel Cobb was another key contributor, rushing for 69 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Shelby's offense rose to the challenge against a Yellow Jackets defense that boasted an average of only 13.71 points allowed. Shelby walked away with a 37-30 victory over Forest Hills on Friday. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Shelby was the better team in the second half.
Shelby relied on the efforts of Lan Farmer, who threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns, and Izay Bridges, who gained 216 total yards and three touchdowns. Bridges' longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards.
Another reason for the win was Shelby's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Justyn Ross and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Reidsville to 13-1 and Bunker Hill to 13-1.
Things could have been worse for Reidsville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-14 loss to Shelby when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Will Reidsville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
