Baseball Recap: Verbena Gets the Win

Verbena won the last time they faced Comer and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Devils came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 11-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Verbena let Caleb Short and Jackson Brothers run wild. Short scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Brothers scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Short has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Sullivan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Verbena now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Comer, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.

Coming up, Verbena will face off against Isabella at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Comer, they will challenge Winterboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
