After losing to Powers Catholic the last time they met, Goodrich decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Goodrich Martians took down the Powers Catholic Chargers 68-54 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Martians.
Despite the loss, Powers Catholic still got an impressive performance from Javontae Ross, who shot 57% from the field en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Ross' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Cull, who posted 14 points.
Goodrich's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Powers Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-3.
Looking ahead, Goodrich is taking a road trip to take on Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodrich knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Chelsea likes a good challenge.
