Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford). Everything went their way against the Tome Titans on Tuesday as they made off with  a  13-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous   match.
 Ericka Ortega was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. That  triple was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Grace Allen was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. That  double marked the first that  she  hit this season. Another player making a difference was  Liliana Van Zyl, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Oxford  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tome only managed two  hits.
Oxford's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Tome,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 Coming up, Oxford will be playing at home against Downingtown East  at 3:45  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Tome, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Bohemia Manor  at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 11.2  runs per game this season.
