The Auburn Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Smiths Station with a sharp 68-46 victory on Tuesday. Auburn is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Griffin Mclean, who scored ten points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tabari Allen, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Auburn pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Smiths Station, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn will take on Opelika at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Opelika will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Auburn is ranked 15th). As for Smiths Station, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 403 points over their last five games.
