The Bowie Bulldogs stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They really took it to Laurel for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-40 victory at home. Bowie's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Bowie found their leader in underclassman Autumn Welch, who scored 19 points along with three blocks and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Welch has scored all season. Amira Kittles was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and five steals.
The win was the sixth in a row for Bowie, bringing their record for this year to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Bowie will head out on the road to face off against Parkdale at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Parkdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Laurel, they will be playing at home against Flowers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Flowers is coming into the game with seven straight wins on the road, meaning Laurel will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
