Thomas has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fava, who scored eight points along with five steals.
East Mecklenburg bumped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.5 points per game. As for Charlotte Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Mecklenburg will square off against Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Charlotte Catholic on the road again on Tuesday and play against Bishop McGuinness at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
