McLean's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to St. Anselm's Abbey on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but McLean was blown out by St. Anselm's Abbey in the second.
McLean's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eros Marchello, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. Marchello scored a full 61.5% of McLean's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Galeone, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
McLean's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLean's road trip will continue as they head out to face Einstein at 7:15 p.m. on December 8th. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, they will face off against Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Model Secondary School for the Deaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday.
