In what's become a running theme this season, the Warrensburg Burgers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Argyle 71-31 at home. With Warrensburg ahead 38-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Warrensburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Steve Schloss led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 32 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Schloss has scored at least a third of Warrensburg's points. Another player making a difference was Evan Lapell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Warrensburg has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Argyle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warrensburg will take on Corinth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Corinth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Argyle, they will head out on the road to square off against Hartford Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hartford Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 688th, while Argyle is ranked 256th).
