The Barrington Eagles will face off against the Lincoln Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Barrington's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Scituate 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Barrington got a massive performance out of Cora Floriani, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Floriani has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Kelsey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scituate only posted an OBP of .077.
Meanwhile, Lincoln put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland, sneaking past 15-13. 15 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Molly Ganim tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alicia Valois was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Lucia Whyte was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Barrington's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Barrington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .511. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Barrington couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln when the teams last played back in April as they fell 12-8. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
