Central is 0-6 against West Plains since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Central Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the West Plains Zizzers at 5:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Central has struggled recently with 27 defeats in a row, while West Plains will arrive with six straight wins.
On Thursday, Central ended up a good deal behind Belle and lost 55-40. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while Belle is ranked 191st).
Meanwhile, West Plains scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkview 74-17 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-9.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for West Plains, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Central took a serious blow against West Plains in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 62-13. Can Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
