Dakota Valley is 8-1 against Tri-Valley since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dakota Valley Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Tri-Valley Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Dakota Valley has not done well against West Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Dakota Valley came out on top against West Central by a score of 64-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cameryn Sommervold continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ella Otten, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-50 victory over Deubrook. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Tri-Valley as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
The win was the third in a row for Dakota Valley, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. Tri-Valley's record now sits at 3-4.
Dakota Valley beat Tri-Valley 63-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dakota Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
