The Eula Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Abilene Christian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eula put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Haskell, posting a 72-30 victory at home. Fans of Eula have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Meanwhile, Abilene Christian's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Tioga by a score of 64-51. The victory was just what Abilene Christian needed coming off of a 77-51 loss in their prior contest.
Abilene Christian relied on the efforts of Carson Schwiethale, who scored 21 points along with 6 steals, and Bryinn Waggoner, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Schwiethale has scored at least 25% of Abilene Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Sheets, who scored 6 points.
Eula's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Abilene Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Eula came up short against Abilene Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, falling 68-57. Can Eula avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
