The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls came tearing into Monday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Moore Haven by a score of 62-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as LaBelle also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
Marissa Burchard continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of LaBelle's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braulynne Flores, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
LaBelle is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Moore Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
LaBelle won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Island Coast at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Island Coast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 609th, while LaBelle is ranked 257th). Moore Haven will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McLaughlin at 2:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
