Last Tuesday, Georgetown came up short against Williamsburg and fell 55-45. While losing is never fun, Georgetown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while Williamsburg is ranked 126th).
Meanwhile, Clermont Northeastern didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Fayetteville-Perry on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win.
Clermont Northeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Yeager led the charge by scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks. Yeager is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Symon Mattes, who scored 13 points.
Georgetown's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Clermont Northeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Georgetown lost to Clermont Northeastern at home by a decisive 46-32 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Yeager, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
