This season hasn't been kind to the Piedmont Academy Cougars, who are still winless after their 15th game. Their tough 60-39 defeat to Briarwood Academy on Friday might stick with them for a while. Piedmont Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Corbett Crews and Camden Moss. Crews scored 18 points, while Moss scored five points. That was a full 46.2% of Piedmont Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Piedmont Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-5) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Briarwood Academy was led to victory by Sam Mock and Charlie Mosley. Mock dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Mosley scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mock is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of mason Thigpen, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Piedmont Academy bumped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Briarwood Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
