After two games on the road, Parkview is heading back home. They will take on The Grayson Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Parkview strolled past Brookwood with points to spare, taking the game 43-24. Given Parkview's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Brookwood is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Jaiden Jenkins, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Grayson stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Archer, posting a 41-14 win on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Grayson who now have three in a row.
Grayson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Elder led the charge by rushing for 166 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Elder really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeff Davis, who threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes.
Parkview's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Kell and 7-2 Newton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Grayson, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Parkview beat Grayson 28-21 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Parkview repeat their success, or does Grayson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
