Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Whitmire's Third in Last Four Outings

Whitmire was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Abbeville on Tuesday. The Wolverines never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Whitmire has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Abbeville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitmire will venture away from home to square off against Calhoun Falls Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Abbeville, they will head out to face off against Emerald at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
