The Jensen Beach Falcons will take on the Sebastian River Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jensen Beach will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jensen Beach beat Bayside 47-42.
Jensen Beach's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jayla Brinkley, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds, and Danielle Bell, who went 5 of 10 en route to 17 points and six boards. Brinkley is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for five straight games.
Jensen Beach smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sebastian River earned a 44-34 win over Treasure Coast on Friday. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Titans are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sebastian River's win came from a few key players Jensen Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was E'Mani Pryor, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 11 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Samiya Adams, who posted four points and four steals.
Sebastian River pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.6 points. As for Jensen Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Jensen Beach has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Sebastian River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Jensen Beach came up short against Sebastian River when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 52-47. Will Jensen Beach have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
