The Seton Catholic Central Knights' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Schroon Lake Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Seton Catholic Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Seton Catholic Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They breezed by Willsboro Central on the road to the tune of 52-17. The victory was just what Seton Catholic Central needed coming off of a 45-24 defeat in their prior game.
Seton Catholic Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Trombley, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Trombley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Gabriella Conti was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Schroon Lake lost to Chazy at home by a decisive 46-30 margin on Wednesday. Schroon Lake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Seton Catholic Central's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Schroon Lake, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Seton Catholic Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Schroon Lake when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 26-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seton Catholic Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
