The Creek Valley Storm lost against the South Platte Blue Knights back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Creek Valley was the victim of a rough 56-31 loss at the hands of South Platte. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Creek Valley in their matchups with South Platte: they've now lost seven in a row.
Anna Speirs was Creek Valley's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Ella Whiting held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
South Platte was led to victory by Johanna Frerichs and Madison Cheleen. Frerichs scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Cheleen almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Frerichs hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Zaerihya Doncheske was another key contributor, scoring three points along with nine rebounds.
Creek Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Platte, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Creek Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Platte will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Kimball at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th.
