The Metter Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 30-17 win over Screven County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Metter also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Michael Ricks had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 58 yards and two touchdowns. Ricks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Jamarreon Morgan was another key contributor, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Metter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Screven County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6.
Metter will take on Swainsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Screven County, they will head out on the road to face off against Dublin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dublin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Screven County in Georgia (Dublin is ranked 110th, while Screven County is ranked 331st).
