Eleva-Strum has gone 9-1 against Whitehall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Eleva-Strum's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Whitehall has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
While Eleva-Strum's victory against Pepin/Alma wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 6-5.
Ruby Bartholomew spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddea Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Norby, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran hit Whitehall with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 14-3 to the Lancers.
Whitehall also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Regan Clatt gave up three earned (and 11 unearned) runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Taylor Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
Eleva-Strum now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Whitehall, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Everything went Eleva-Strum's way against Whitehall when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Eleva-Strum made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
