This season hasn't been kind to the Citrus Hurricanes, who are still winless after their fifth match. They fell to Ocala Christian 44-38.
Despite the loss, Citrus had strong showings from Demi Williamson, who scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Kendyl Hunnicutt, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds. The contest was Williamson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Citrus were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Citrus' loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Ocala Christian, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Citrus won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nature Coast Tech at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Nature Coast Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Wednesday. As for Ocala Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Meadowbrook Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
