The Troup County Tigers will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Cairo Syrupmakers at 2:00 p.m. on November 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Troup County is ranked 68th, while Cairo is ranked 76th).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Troup County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 23-7 loss to LaGrange.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Cairo's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Bainbridge 56-6. The low total for Cairo limited their streak of high-flying scores to six in a row.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 8-2.
Troup County beat Cairo 27-17 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troup County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
