AAA Region 3 recap October 22, 2013
Robert Thomas of Swainsboro ran for the longest rushing play in AAA Region 3 this season against Washington County last week. Thomas ran for 83 yards on the play and finished with 198 on the day as his team lost to the Golden Hawks.
Washington County added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Swainsboro, 62-15. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Swainsboro's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Korey Somerville has thrown for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Michael Franklin has 4 catches for 107 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Thomson takes on the Golden Hawks. The Bulldogs are in third place, while Washington County is in first place.
The Golden Hawks took down Ken Eldridge's team 62-15 last week, the largest margin of any game.
