University Prep scaled the state rankings by moving to 263 from 320 this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Freelance. University Prep climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Wayland-Cohocton 44-6.
Aquinas Institute extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Webster Thomas, 41-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Little Irish.
Aquinas Institute's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Zembiec threw for 120 and 4 touchdowns and Alex Bianchi had 32 yards receiving. On the ground Luch Pietropaolo chipped in 78 yards. Zack Brienza helped Aquinas Institute's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
He went 8-12 with 0 interceptions.
Pietropaolo was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 78 yards as Chris Battaglia's team topped the Titans. Teammate Terrance Richards added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.
On the heels of Zembiec and Pietropaolo, the Little Irish have had great success on offense. Zembiec leads the league in passing with 1,070 yards, while Pietropaolo has rushed for 714 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is raheem miller's team's Jordan Marshall, with 337 yards on 12 catches.
Finney/Northstar Christian Academy fell to Dundee 49-9 last week, the largest margin of any game.
