Monrovia moved up to 91 from 121 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Rio Hondo. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping South Hills 31-13.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Monrovia beat the Huskies 31-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for Ryan Maddox's team.
The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Deshawn Potts threw for 134 yards and Jordan Nathan had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Kurt Scoby contributed 137 yards. Crayvon Gillespie helped Monrovia's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Scoby was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 137 yards on 20 carries as Monrovia bested South Hills. Teammate Potts added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
On the heels of Potts and Scoby, the Wildcats have had great success on offense. Potts is tops in the league in passing with 392 yards, while Scoby has rushed for 749 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is La Canada's Todd Murray, with 123 yards on 10 catches.
San Marino took down Beverly Hills 64-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
