The Winnebago Indians won the last time they faced the Walthill Blujays, and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went Winnebago's way against Walthill as Winnebago made off with a 54-34 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Winnebago.
Winnebago was led to victory by Jolon Blackbird and Tressa BigBear. Blackbird scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while BigBear scored 22 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which BigBear has scored at least 25% of Winnebago's points. Another player making a difference was Myla Milford, who scored 6 points.
Winnebago's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Walthill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winnebago and Pender will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Pender focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Walthill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Tuesday.
