After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Potosi, Cuba was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Steelville Cardinals with a sharp 14-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.
Braden Gipson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Gipson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
