Basketball Recap: Highlands Find Success

If Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Highlands, they should've done a better job of containing Elieanna Bull. The Highlands Blazers took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 48-11 victory over Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep thanks in part to Bull, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Victoria Cordero, who posted four points in addition to five boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

The win got Highlands back to even at 3-3. As for Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Highlands and Lakehill Prep will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Highlands' defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Lakehill Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brook Hill at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
