Fredericksburg Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Seton Conquistadors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredericksburg Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 294 points over their last five games.
Fredericksburg Christian pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-62 to Eastern Mennonite. While losing is never fun, Fredericksburg Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Eastern Mennonite is ranked 39th).
Despite their loss, Fredericksburg Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Christan Smith, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Caesar was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Seton stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Trinity Christian 72-29 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Seton has posted since December 1, 2023.
Fredericksburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Seton, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1.
Fredericksburg Christian came up short against Seton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 68-58. Can Fredericksburg Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
