The Spartanburg Vikings''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Dorman. The result was nothing new for Spartanburg, who have now won three games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Spartanburg found their leader in underclassman Trenton Lynch, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Lynch really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Justin Rice did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Spartanburg's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Dorman, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spartanburg will face off against Rock Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dorman, they will head out on the road to face off against James F. Byrnes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. James F. Byrnes is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
