The Mesa Jackrabbits and the Brophy College Prep Broncos squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Mesa Jackrabbits had to settle for second. Mesa took a serious blow against Brophy College Prep, falling 35-7. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, Mesa couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Mesa still got an impressive performance from Junior St. Cyr, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Charlie McGinnis looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 260 yards and a touchdown, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Brophy College Prep's defense and their four sacks. Mardale Rowe was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Brophy College Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brophy College Prep will be playing at home against Casteel at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Casteel is ranked 19th, while Brophy College Prep is ranked ninth).
