The Wesley Chapel Wildcats will challenge the Cypress Creek Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wesley Chapel 3, Cypress Creek 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Wesley Chapel's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Pasco by a score of 3-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pasco's batters probably weren't too happy with Aiden Nguyen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (he gave up two walks). Nguyen also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wesley Chapel is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Wesley Chapel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Roche, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Conor Muehl also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Cypress Creek fell victim to Sunlake and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Coyotes have suffered since April 30, 2024.
Cypress Creek also got a good showing from Ethan Cook, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). What's more, Cook gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.
Wesley Chapel's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Cypress Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wesley Chapel has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cypress Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wesley Chapel took their win against Cypress Creek in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
